Social sculpture, installation
Handkerchiefs, action, document, one year’s time,
departures, stations and airports, tears
The work consists of a pile of handkerchiefs left at a station and a photograph depicting them.
For a year, whenever I traveled I would leave a pile of paper handkerchiefs at the station and photograph them. Handkerchiefs were for the use of passengers and those who were left behind, as departures are often sad situations. The photograph serves as a document of the action itself.
The series comprises 47 photographs of stations and airports in several different countries.
